Position Overview

Brooksource is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to support a major retail and grocery client in expanding its e-commerce personalization capabilities.

This role focuses on building scalable, real-time personalization solutions that enhance digital customer experiences through intelligent search, product recommendations, and behavioral data.

The ideal candidate combines data architecture, machine learning engineering, and hands-on pipeline development , with experience supporting high-volume, consumer-facing applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale data pipelines powering real-time personalization, intelligent search, and product recommendations.
• Develop APIs and data services that integrate machine learning models into customer-facing applications.
• Collaborate with Data Science teams to operationalize ML models and support production-ready personalization solutions.
• Architect scalable data solutions processing customer behavioral, transactional, and clickstream data.
• Build and optimize cloud-based data pipelines using AWS, Databricks, and Google Cloud technologies.
• Support modernization initiatives involving Google Cloud Platform, Vertex AI, and BigQuery .
• Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of existing personalization infrastructure.
• Partner with engineering, architecture, and product teams to advance digital customer experiences.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, machine learning engineering, data architecture, or related disciplines.
• Experience in retail, e-commerce, or consumer-facing digital products supporting large-scale customer interactions.
• Strong hands-on experience building scalable data pipelines and data architectures.
• Experience supporting machine learning applications, particularly personalization, search, or recommendation systems.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL , and modern cloud data technologies.
• Experience with AWS, Databricks, GCP , or comparable cloud platforms.
• Experience integrating ML models into production applications through APIs or data services.
• Strong understanding of distributed data processing, data modeling, and real-time data architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, Vertex AI, and BigQuery .
• Experience developing real-time recommendation engines, intelligent search, or personalization platforms.
• Background in ML engineering, model deployment, or production ML workflows.
• Experience with customer behavioral data, clickstream analytics, and digital commerce.
• Experience modernizing or migrating enterprise cloud data platforms.
