Job Purpose

We are seeking a reliable, practical and hardworking Senior Maintenance Operative to join our busy caravan park team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the park, its facilities and holiday accommodation are maintained to a high standard, providing a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for our owners, holiday guests and visitors.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a broad range of maintenance skills, a positive attitude and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Previous experience in siting, levelling and plumbing static caravans is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day maintenance, repairs and general upkeep across the park.
• Undertake basic carpentry, joinery, painting, decorating and minor building repairs.
• Carry out minor plumbing repairs, including taps, toilets, pipework, leaks and drainage.
• Assist with basic electrical maintenance where appropriately qualified and authorised.
• Maintain Park buildings, communal areas, facilities, pathways, roads, fencing, gates and external areas.
• Identify maintenance issues and report any faults requiring specialist attention.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise breakdowns and disruption.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from park management, owners and holiday guests.

Caravan Siting and Installation

• Site, position and level static caravans and holiday homes accurately and safely.
• Prepare pitches and ensure caravans are correctly positioned and securely supported.
• Connect and undertake plumbing installations for static caravans, including water supplies, waste connections and associated pipework.
• Check plumbing connections for leaks and ensure installations are functioning correctly.
• Assist with the connection and disconnection of utility services in accordance with relevant regulations and safe working practices.
• Carry out final checks to ensure caravans are level, secure and ready for occupation.
• Assist with caravan movements, deliveries and pitch preparation as required.
• Identify and resolve installation issues and report any work requiring specialist contractors.

Health, Safety and Customer Service

• Follow all health and safety procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Use tools, machinery and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with holiday guests, caravan owners, colleagues and contractors.
• Report hazards, accidents, damage and maintenance concerns promptly.
• Complete maintenance records and report completed work to management.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in general maintenance, property maintenance or a similar hands-on role.
• Good knowledge of domestic plumbing, water supplies, waste systems and pipework connections.
• Competent with a range of hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to diagnose problems, carry out repairs and work independently.
• Good practical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physically fit enough to undertake manual work and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable, punctual, organised and able to prioritise workloads.
• Flexible approach and the ability to work under pressure during busy periods.
• A strong commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness and customer service.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

• Experience working within a caravan park, holiday park, leisure park or holiday accommodation environment.
• Knowledge of static caravan installations and utility connections.
• Experience in carpentry, joinery, decorating, groundwork or drainage.
• Relevant plumbing, maintenance or trade qualifications.
• Relevant plant, machinery or towing qualifications, where required for the role.
• Practical experience in siting, levelling and plumbing static caravans or holiday homes.
