Senior Maintenance Planner

As a Senior Maintenance Planner, you will need the development, implementation and continuous improvement of maintenance strategies across underground mining, surface operations, quarrying, and rock crushing plants. You will be responsible for advanced planning, reliability engineering, and strategic asset management, ensuring optimized equipment performance, reduced downtime and cost efficiency across multi site operation. Your role will include close coordination with workshop teams, site managers, engineering teams, as well as strong collaboration with operations and mine planning engineers/department ensuring maintenance activities are fully aligned with production schedules, mine plans, and operational priorities. In addition, you will be responsible for leading a team of workshops administrator, planning coordinators, and data clerks, ensuring transparency, data accuracy, and alignment across all maintenance planning and reporting functions. You will drive best in class maintenance aligned with operational and business goals.

1.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintenance Planning and Scheduling

· Develop, implement, and continuously improve long-, medium-, and short-term maintenance plans for all mobile and fixed plant equipment.

· Lead planning for underground mining equipment, crushing plants, tunnelling machinery, and heavy fleet assets.

· Ensure high schedule compliance through effective coordination with site teams.

· Optimize maintenance intervals using data-driven planning techniques.

· Drive daily, weekly, monthly, and three-month rolling forecast planning, including weekly and major shutdown planning processes, ensuring alignment with operational and production requirements.

· Utilize CMMS systems to:

o Plan and schedule work orders

o Track asset history

o Monitor maintenance KPIs

1. Equipment Reliability & Asset Strategy

· Drive Reliability-Cantered Maintenance (RCM) strategies across all operations.

· Develop and maintain equipment criticality rankings to prioritize maintenance activities and resource allocation.

· Analyse failure trends, downtime data, and condition monitoring inputs.

· Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and implement sustainable corrective actions.

· Develop and implement:

o Predictive maintenance programs

o Condition monitoring strategies

o Asset lifecycle optimization plans.

· Monitor equipment performance indicators including:

o MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures)

o MTTR (Mean Time to Repair)

o Equipment Availability

o Maintenance Cost Performance

o Work orders

o Job plans

o Equipment history (FAR – Sustainability)

o Major component forecast planning

· Monitor equipment performance indicators including:

o Vibration analysis

o Thermography

o Oil analysis

o Condition monitoring

2. Spare Parts & Inventory Management (RCM Aligned)

· Define and manage critical spares strategies based on asset criticality and RCM analysis, in collaboration with procurement teams, ensuring alignment with operational risk and reliability goals.

· Establish structured spare parts classification linked to FMEA and asset criticality.

· Identify:

o Critical spares

o Insurance spares

o Operational consumables

· Set and optimize:

o Reorder levels (min/max)

o Safety stock levels (risk-based)

o Lead times

· Integrate spare parts planning with:

o Maintenance schedules

o Shutdown planning

o Predictive maintenance triggers

· Collaborate with procurement to ensure:

o Supplier reliability

o Cost efficiency

o Reduced lead times

· Monitor usage, inventory accuracy, and obsolescence trends.

· Ensure zero stock-outs for critical spares while optimizing inventory costs.

3. Performance Reporting and Data Analysis

· Track and report key KPIs:

o Maintenance cost per ton/hour

o Backlog and schedule compliance

· Develop weekly and monthly dashboards.

· Provide data-driven insights and improvement recommendations.

· Support budgeting and cost control initiatives.

4. Continuous Improvement and Leadership

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance functions.

· Implement best practices in:

o Reliability engineering

o Maintenance planning

o Asset lifecycle management

· Lead and mentor planning and administrative teams.

· Enhance CMMS utilization and digital processes.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

· Coordinate with:

o Operations

o Mine Planning Department

o Engineering

o Procurement

o Finance

· Ensure maintenance aligns with production targets and mine plans.

· Support multi-site operations across UAE, Oman, and KSA.

6. Certifications, Calibrations & OEM Documentation Management

· Establish and maintain a centralized documentation system for all certifications, calibrations, and OEM technical data.

· Ensure all OEM manuals, bulletins, and updates are:

o Obtained, current, and controlled

o Accessible via CMMS or document system

· Maintain an asset documentation register including:

o OEM manuals and specifications

o Maintenance procedures

o Calibration and compliance certificates

· Ensure all calibration-required equipment is:

o Scheduled and tracked

o Within validity periods

o Fully compliant

· Implement and manage a calibration control system ensuring:

o Zero overdue calibrations

o Full traceability

· Maintain continuous communication with OEMs:

o Technical support engagement

o Updates on equipment improvements

o Warranty tracking and claims

o Service bulletins and recalls

· Align maintenance strategies with OEM recommendations and site conditions.

· Ensure compliance with:

o OEM standards

o Legal requirements

o Internal audits

· Support audits with complete, traceable documentation.

· Drive digitalization and standardization of documentation systems.

Maintain relationships and provide support to

INTERNAL All ROCKERS, from workers to Project Managers and Financial Controllers.

1.0 QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

2. 5–10 years’ experience in:

· Maintenance planning

· Reliability engineering

· Asset management

· Inventory management

3. Proven experience in:

· Underground mining

· Surface mining & quarrying

· Rock crushing plants

· Tunnelling operations

· Projects
