Senior Maintenance Planner - Operational Readiness

The Senior Maintenance Planner - Operational Readiness is the first dedicated Processing Maintenance position for Assafou. Initially, the role will report directly to the Processing Manager and once appointed, the reporting line will transition to the Fixed Plant Maintenance Superintendent. The role will work closely with the Project team, Group Operational Support and Engineering, EPCM, Supply Chain, OEMs and commissioning specialists.

From detailed design through commissioning, start-up and ramp-up, the role will develop the maintenance planning information and asset-management foundations required for operation This includes asset data, equipment criticality, maintenance strategy, job plans, equipment BOMs, spare-parts requirements, tooling, first fills, condition-monitoring requirements, asset integrity requirements and maintenance documentation.

All maintenance readiness deliverables shall be developed in accordance with the Endeavour Mining Asset Management Policy, Framework, Group Standards and agreed maintenance governance requirements supporting asset management principles aligned with ISO 55000.

Operational-readiness and commissioning experience is required to support the transition into the permanent maintenance organization.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY

Maintenance planning, asset management & operational readiness:

• Maintain the Processing Maintenance readiness schedule within the planner scope, aligned with
• project milestones, commissioning, first ore and ramp-up.
• Coordinate maintenance-planning deliverables with the Processing Manager, Project and Group functions, and highlight gaps or late inputs that may affect commissioning, start-up or early operations.
• Apply Group Standards, maintenance governance requirements and operational-readiness processes throughout project development, commissioning and handover.
• Maintain visibility of maintenance-readiness risks, gaps and actions for issues that may affect commissioning, start-up or sustainable operation mining challenges.
• Develop predictive models for operational performance, resource estimation, or reconciliation, equipment productivity, and planning accuracy.
• Transform complex operational datasets into business insights that support data-driven decision making.
• Develop reusable analytics products and decision-support tools.

Maintenance Management System and Master Data:

• Develop and maintain the plant asset hierarchy, equipment register, functional locations and maintenance master data required for the maintenance management system.
• Ensure asset hierarchy, equipment master data, maintenance strategies, BOMs and related maintenance data comply with Group Standards and agreed data governance requirements.
• Develop preventive and condition-based maintenance routines, digitalized task lists, lubrication management plans, frequencies and job plans using OEM information, asset criticality and Group standards.
• Prepare equipment bills of materials (BOMs) and ensure materials and spare parts are associated with the correct plant assets.
• Support the setup and progressive population of the maintenance management system and maintain accurate planning data as vendor and commissioning information becomes available.
• Prepare practical planning, scheduling and backlog-management templates and routines for use by the future maintenance team.

Spare Parts, Materials, Tooling and First Fills:

• Review EPCM and OEM recommended spare-parts lists and recommend classification of commissioning, running, insurance and strategic spares.
• Identify critical and long-lead spare parts and support Supply Chain and Project Procurement with technical review and procurement tracking.
• Review opportunities for spare-parts commonality with existing Endeavour operations where practical.

Design, commissioning and handover support:

• Participating in design reviews from a maintenance-planning and maintainability perspective, include equipment access, lifting and removal routes, isolation points, maintenance platforms and workshop requirements.
• Compile and organize vendor manuals, drawings, warranties, maintenance procedures, commissioning records and as-built information required for future maintenance planning.

Start-up, Ramp-up and Transition to Operations:

• Support maintenance planning and scheduling during commissioning, first ore, start-up and ramp- up in coordination with the Processing Manager, commissioning team and developing maintenance organization.
• Provide a structured handover of open planning actions, master data, job plans and spare-parts information as the permanent maintenance organization is mobilized.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure maintenance job plans include appropriate safety requirements, permits, isolations, lifting requirements and statutory inspection needs.
• Conduct planning activities in accordance with Endeavour Mining HSE standards and site procedures.
• Maintain accurate and traceable maintenance planning and handover records.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Education:

• Internationally recognized Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• An equivalent combination of technical qualifications and substantial relevant maintenance experience may be considered.

Relevant experience:

• Minimum 10 years of progressive maintenance planning experience in mining or mineral processing, preferably in gold processing plants.
• Demonstrated maintenance operational-readiness experience on a greenfield or major brownfield process plant, with practical involvement through commissioning, start-up and ramp-up.
• Hands-on experience with CMMS, asset hierarchies, equipment master data, BOMs, preventive- maintenance routines, task lists and job plans.
• Working knowledge of asset-management systems and ISO 55000 principles. Practical knowledge of equipment criticality, maintenance strategy development, PM optimization, condition monitoring, asset integrity and reliability improvement.
• Experience reviewing critical and long-lead spare parts, vendor spare-parts recommendations and initial inventory requirements.
• Practical involvement in equipment commissioning, handover and early operational maintenance planning.
• Sound understanding of maintainability, shutdown planning and scheduling, work management, condition monitoring and maintenance performance indicators.
• Experience working with EPCM contractors, Project teams, Group Engineering / Asset Management, Supply Chain, OEMs and commissioning teams.
• Experience working in West Africa or a comparable operating environment is highly preferred.
• French / English language capability is advantageous.
