SENIOR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - EXTRUSION

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and fully hands-on Senior Maintenance Technician to support our plastic extrusion operations. The candidate must be able to independently troubleshoot and repair both electrical and mechanical breakdowns.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain plastic extrusion machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Handle electrical faults involving motors, heaters, SSRs, contactors, sensors, control panels and machine wiring.
• Perform mechanical repairs involving gearboxes, bearings, shafts, screws, barrels, pumps and conveying systems.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Support machine installation, commissioning and improvement work.
• Identify recurring breakdowns and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Maintain maintenance records and monitor critical spare parts.
• Respond promptly to production breakdowns and work closely with the production team to minimise downtime.
• Guide junior technicians when required.
• Provide night-time breakdown support when necessary.

About you

• Minimum SPM, technical qualification or relevant skills certificate.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience with plastic extrusion, injection moulding or other relevant manufacturing machinery is preferred.
• Strong hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with three-phase motors, inverters/VFDs, heaters, SSRs, sensors and control circuits.
• Experience repairing gearboxes, bearings, pumps, blowers, conveyors and pneumatic systems.
• Welding and fabrication skills are an advantage.
• Able to work independently and resolve equipment breakdowns.
• Willing to provide night support and work overtime when necessary.
• Responsible, safety-conscious and able to work under pressure.
