Senior Maintenance Technician - Marine

Use your trade skills somewhere a little different. Looking for a hands-on maintenance role where no two days are the same? Join the RealNZ team in Te Anau and help keep one of New Zealand's largest tourism vessel fleets operating safely and reliably.

Whether you're from a marine, automotive, heavy diesel or mechanical background, if you're trade qualified and enjoy solving problems, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

You'll spend your time working alongside an experienced maintenance team to keep our vessels in top condition. Summer is focused on keeping the fleet running smoothly, while winter is when we tackle bigger maintenance and refit projects.

Some of the work includes:

• Carrying out servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing faults and fixing mechanical issues
• Assisting with vessel refits and improvement projects
• Completing maintenance records
• Working safely as part of a supportive team

No two days are exactly the same, and you'll get the opportunity to work across a unique range of vessels and equipment.

What we're looking for

You'll ideally have:

• A relevant trade qualification
• Experience with Maintenance Management Systems
• 8+ years' experience in marine, automotive, heavy diesel, or similar mechanical work is preferred, but we're equally interested in finding the right person. If you have relevant experience and a willingness to learn, we'd encourage you to apply
• Good problem-solving skills and pride in your workmanship
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• A full driver's licence

If you don't tick every box but have solid mechanical experience, we'd still encourage you to apply.

• Be based in beautiful Te Anau

• Free Cardrona x Treble Cone Ski/Bike Pass
