Senior Manager, Application Development (Java, APIs, Microservices, AWS, AI)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Application Development (Java, APIs, Microservices, AWS, AI) to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.

This role will lead a talented engineering organization responsible for delivering modern application solutions that support enterprise operations and digital transformation. The Senior Manager will guide technical direction across cloud-native development, API strategy, microservices, and AI-enabled software delivery while partnering closely with business and product stakeholders. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to improve engineering execution, strengthen architecture, and accelerate the delivery of scalable, high-quality technology solutions.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $106,605 – $260,590 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams focused on application development and cloud solutions.
• Own end-to-end delivery of enterprise applications, APIs, and modernization initiatives.
• Partner with business and product teams to deliver solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
• Drive development of cloud-native applications on AWS using modern architecture patterns.
• Oversee the design and governance of enterprise APIs and integration platforms.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted software development tools and lead development of AI-powered applications.
• Champion Agile, DevOps, and quality engineering practices to improve software delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive software engineering and application development experience.
• 5+ years of technical leadership and people management experience.
• Proven experience leading distributed engineering teams delivering enterprise-scale software solutions.
• Strong experience designing and implementing cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Deep experience with microservices architecture and domain-driven design.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding platforms such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.
