Senior Manager - Budgeting & Estimation

The Senior Manager / Manager – Budgeting and Estimation will be responsible for managing and overseeing project costs from conception to completion, ensuring financial viability. This includes preparing detailed cost estimates, developing project budgets, managing cash flows, and conducting value engineering to control expenses and maximize profit. This senior roles require strong financial, project management, and communication skills to coordinate with multiple departments and stakeholders, and to provide strategic financial leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Cost estimation and budgeting: Preparing detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and bills of quantities (BOQ) for all project components (civil, Finishing, MEP, landscape, etc.). Developing and managing operational and project budgets.
• Financial control and risk management: Monitoring project expenses to ensure they stay within budget, tracking costs, and managing variations. Conducting financial risk assessments and implementing controls.
• Strategic and analytical tasks: Performing financial feasibility studies and contributing to organizational strategy through cost-reduction and resource-optimization recommendations.
• Project coordination: Collaborating with design, procurement, project management, and site teams to gather inputs and validate estimates.
• Reporting and analysis: Preparing and presenting regular reports, including monthly MIS and quarterly performance analyses, for senior management.

Essential skills and qualifications

• Education: B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: A minimum of 8 to 12 years in cost estimation, quantity surveying, and budgeting, preferably within the real estate or infrastructure sectors.
• Technical skills: Proficiency in estimation software, strong analytical skills, and expertise in Advance MS Excel and presentation tools. Knowledge of SAP is often a plus.
• Soft skills: Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are crucial for success in this role.
