Our client is a government-owned organisation driving the development and clinical adoption of genomic medicine in Hong Kong.

Your new role

• Lead and oversee the Corporate Communications Division, driving the development and execution of all corporate communications and public education initiatives for the Hong Kong Genome Institute (HKGI).
• Develop and implement strategic communication, publicity, and educational programmes to support the objectives of the Hong Kong Genome Project (HKGP), enhancing engagement with key stakeholders, including patients and their families, healthcare professionals, students, youth, and the wider community.
• Direct the planning, coordination, and execution of promotional campaigns, educational activities, and outreach programmes to strengthen public awareness and understanding of HKGI and HKGP.
• Manage HKGI's corporate branding and reputation, ensuring consistent messaging across all communication channels and leading the production of the Institute's Annual Report.
• Leverage a broad range of online and offline communication platforms to maximise visibility and engagement, while overseeing the development of communication and promotional materials, including websites, videos, brochures, newsletters, and marketing collateral.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for media relations, handling media enquiries, preparing press releases, statements, and briefing materials, and coordinating media interviews, visits, and press events.
• Monitor public sentiment, media coverage, and emerging issues relevant to HKGI and HKGP, providing strategic advice and recommendations on communication matters.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by senior management.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree or above in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, public relations, media relations, brand management, marketing communications, event management, or stakeholder engagement, preferably gained within large corporations, government organisations, non-governmental organisations, or public relations agencies.
• At least 5 years of management or supervisory experience leading communication teams and managing large-scale communication initiatives.
• Demonstrated track record in independently developing and delivering high-impact publicity campaigns and stakeholder engagement programmes.
• Strong experience in media engagement, issues management, corporate branding, and content development across multiple communication channels.
• Excellent project management, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese, with proven experience in preparing public-facing and executive-level communication materials.
• Self-motivated, strategic, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in healthcare, public health, biotechnology, life sciences, academic institutions, or government-related organisations would be highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with science communication, public education programmes, or genome/genetics-related initiatives is a strong plus
