Senior Manager, Data Engineering & Data Governance

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Engineering & Data Governance for a contract to hire position with a client located in Texas . The ideal candidate must have extensive experience leading enterprise data engineering teams and developing data governance programs within higher education or similarly complex organizations. This role will oversee the architecture, development, and support of enterprise data platforms including Operational Data Stores (ODS), Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW), and Data Lake environments. The selected candidate will also lead the institution's data governance strategy, policy development, data stewardship initiatives, and regulatory compliance efforts.

Pay Range $65-71/hr ( Pay may be negotiable based upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise data integration pipelines, Operational Data Stores, Enterprise Data Warehouses, and Data Lakes.
• Direct the implementation and support of ETL/ELT processes utilizing technologies such as SSIS, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Azure Data Factory, and SnapLogic.
• Serve as the institution's data management officer by leading data governance initiatives, policies, standards, and stewardship programs.
• Manage and mentor data engineers, integration engineers, database administrators, and data analysts while overseeing project priorities, budgets, and vendor relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in data engineering and data governance.
• Demonstrated management experience leading technical teams and enterprise data initiatives.
• Experience supporting enterprise data platforms, integrations, business intelligence solutions, reporting, and dashboards.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing architecture, data governance frameworks, ETL/integration technologies, and Oracle and/or SQL Server environments.
• Preferred experience within higher education, Texas public institutions, or public sector organizations.
