THE ROLE

We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Senior Manager of eCommerce and Mobile Development to lead our technology team in shaping and executing the strategic direction of our online platforms. As the Senior Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and enhancement of our eCommerce websites and mobile applications. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, hands-on development, and effective leadership to drive innovation and deliver exceptional digital experiences for our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute the overall technology strategy for eCommerce and mobile platforms in alignment with business objectives.
• Lead a team of developers in architecting, designing, developing, and maintaining headless Shopify solutions and mobile applications.
• Develop and deliver technical roadmaps.
• Stay abreast of the latest mobile development and eCommerce trends and technologies, applying them to enhance our mobile and eCommerce platforms.

Architecture & Development

• Lead a team of developers in architecting, designing, developing, and maintaining headless Shopify solutions and mobile applications.
• Architect, develop and maintain solutions supporting domestic and international DTC and B2B solutions for recteq.com.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Serve as a technical thought partner and backup to the Mobile Solution Architect.
• Ensure all platforms are performant, secure, and compliant.

Project Management

• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of eCommerce and mobile development projects.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Implement and maintain agile development methodologies with a focus on continuously improving recteq’s agile methodology.

Technology Stack Management

• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to support eCommerce and mobile initiatives.
• Manage the integration of third-party tools and services to enhance platform functionality.
• Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of eCommerce and mobile solutions.

Collaboration

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, sales, and customer service, to ensure a cohesive and integrated digital strategy.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize development efforts.

Mentorship & Leadership

• Provide guidance and mentorship to developers, assisting in their skill development when applicable.
• Lead by example, promoting best practices and coding standards.
• Set and communicate objectives and priorities.
• Conduct semi-annual performance discussions (i.e. mid-year review, year-end review)
• Provide ongoing performance feedback, coaching, training, and development.
• Understanding immediate and long-term staffing needs to ensure the team can support the delivery needs of all organization/company initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 12+ years of eCommerce Development both DTC and B2B (e.g., Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce).
• 4+ years experience with Shopify Plus and Advanced Features.
• 4+ years of Content Management Experience.
• 2+ years experience with headless eCommerce solutions. Successfully architecting and developing a headless eCommerce solution.
• 6+ years of agile experience with a focus on leading technology projects.
• 6+ years managing and mentoring developers including working with offshore teams.
• 4+ years of UI/UX strategy.
• 2+ years experience with Celigo or other middleware solutions.
• 2+ years experience with AWS (Lambda and IAC tools).
• Experience with Algolia (Using API driven search and recommendations).
• Hands-on experience in Dev and Sys Ops specifically with Vercel.
• Knowledge of web and mobile performance optimization techniques.
• Experience with software testing methodologies including regression, functional, unit, integration, coverage, performance, and load.
• Knowledge of web and mobile security best practices and compliance.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or other ERP systems; willingness to learn NetSuite basics is essential.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information to non-technical users.
• Customer-oriented attitude with a dedication to providing excellent user support.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to travel 3-4 times a year.

Preferred Qualifications

• Shopify certification(s) or relevant certifications in web development.
• Experience with work management tools such as Monday or Jira.
• Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Zendesk, Salesforce, or others).
