Senior Manager FP&A

The FP&A focuses on financial planning and analysis, involving tasks like managing the annual budget and forecasting, developing financial models, analyzing performance metrics (like subscriber metrics and churn), and partnering with business units to provide strategic financial insights. The role is responsible for helping senior leadership make data-driven decisions, identifying financial trends and risks, and ensuring the company meets its financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities & Duties;

• Financial planning: Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
• Financial analysis: Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities specific to the telecom sector.
• Performance monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as subscriber growth, churn rates, and profitability by channel or product.
• Financial modeling: Build, maintain, and improve complex financial models for forecasting, scenario planning, and business case analysis.
• Reporting and communication: Prepare insightful reports and presentations for senior leadership, highlighting findings and recommendations.
• Business partnering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Technology) to align financial plans with business objectives.
• Core Activities & Models in FP&A Modeling:
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Creating detailed financial plans (P&L, cash flow) and rolling forecasts for future periods, often quarterly or annually.
• Scenario & Sensitivity Analysis: Testing assumptions (e.g., price changes, market shifts) to understand potential impacts on outcomes.
• Performance Management: Monitoring KPIs and actual performance against plans, providing variance analysis.
• Strategic Planning: Building models for new initiatives, investments, or evaluating business opportunities.
• Valuation & Capital Budgeting: Supporting decisions like M&A or capital expenditure through models like Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)
• GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Accounting
• Familiar with skills involving technical ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements in compliance with U.S. standards or similar.
• Familiarity with the Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and Philippine Accounting Standards (PAS) aligned with international standards (IFRS) to ensure consistency, transparency, and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Knowledgeable competencies include revenue recognition, matching principles, historical cost accounting, and consistency in reporting.
• Knowledgeable with the Core Technical GAAP Skills - Financial Statement Preparation, Revenue Recognition & Matching, Asset Management, Compliance & Reporting, Audit Preparedness.

Required Skills & Qualifications.

• A bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, accounting, or a related major or equivalent professional experience is required.
• Must have at least 5+ years of financial planning & analysis experience.
• Experience with tools like Python, SQL, PowerBI, Data Analytics, and business intelligence (BI) dashboards can be a plus.
• Specific experience in the telecommunications industry is highly preferred, as it requires understanding unique metrics and business drivers.
• Ability to synthesize large amounts of data, identify key variables, and provide actionable, data-driven insights.
• Strong ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders and work effectively across different departments.
• Proactively identify variances and recommend corrective actions
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• With strong corporate personality and high self-confidence
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including: Advanced formulas, Pivot tables, charting and visualization.
