Piper Maddox has partnered with a high-growth electrification company to find a Senior Manager, Interconnection. You'll lead utility interconnection and new-service work across a portfolio of roughly 100 sites in 20+ states, covering battery storage (BESS), edge compute, and EV charging, and the portfolio is growing.

Our client helps fleet operators and communities make the switch to electric simply and affordably. Utility work sits on the critical path to every build-ready site. In this high-ownership role, you'll be the company's primary point of contact with utilities and set the pace on getting new service secured on time.

This is a remote role. Being based on the East Coast is a plus, but it isn't a requirement.

What You'll Do

• Own the interconnection and new-service program from early diligence through energized service
• Lead utility diligence to confirm buildability, including capacity, service voltage, required upgrades, timelines, and costs
• Prepare and drive applications to approval on an aggressive, portfolio-wide schedule
• Manage utility relationships, timelines, budgets, and escalations, and clear roadblocks before they hit project schedules
• Lead and quality-check the external partners doing diligence and application work
• Keep utility milestones moving in parallel with design and permitting
• Manage tariff selection and feed upgrade costs into project budgets
• Build a repository of utility requirements by territory, along with repeatable playbooks for key utilities

What You'll Need

• 8+ years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree with substantial experience
• Hands-on experience with electric utilities on interconnection, new service, and service upgrades, from the developer, customer, or utility side
• Program management experience coordinating many concurrent projects and external partners
• A track record of moving utility approvals forward on aggressive timelines
• Experience negotiating phased or partial interconnection agreements

Nice to Have

• Interconnection experience with BESS, solar, or large commercial/industrial loads
• Exposure to EV charging, data center power, or renewables development
• Familiarity with IEEE 1547, utility tariffs, and state interconnection rules
• Experience working with AHJs and engineering consultants
• Prior utility experience or a PMP
