What they need
Help people build businesses. Build independence. Change what’s possible.
This one’s packed full of purpose, people, and nationwide impact.
Many Rivers works with people who haven’t always had the same opportunities, networks or access to finance as others.
Through the Microenterprise Development (MED) program, their Business Coaches work alongside disadvantaged people – helping them turn ideas into viable businesses, build financial independence and create a different future.
Now, Many Rivers is looking for a Senior Manager to lead that work nationally.
Love travelling the country? You won’t be spending your life behind a screen in this role.
You’ll be out meeting your people and seeing the work first-hand. One week you’re with the team in regional Queensland. The next, visiting a community in WA.
You’ll get to understand the environments your teams work in, meet the people they support and see the very real impact of the work you’re leading.
Then there’s the freedom that comes with it.
You’ll be trusted to lead. To ask questions. To challenge how things have always been done. And to help shape what MED looks like next.
Lead performance, strategy and growth. While changing plenty of lives.
The Role
At its heart, this role is about creating a connected, accountable and high-performing national team.
40 Business Coaches. 4 Regional Managers. You’ll bring them all together – developing their capability, setting clear expectations and creating a culture where people support each other while still being accountable for results.
You
You are an exceptional people leader.
Someone who has led leaders. Built culture across geographically and remote teams. Lifted performance. Navigated change. Had difficult conversations. Managed underperformance properly. And helped good people become even better.
Your background is across community development, social enterprise, or financial services. Bonus points if in regional or remote Australia, or working alongside Indigenous communities.
Any exposure to government-funded programs and outcomes-based contracts would be valuable.
You’re the kind of leader who can zoom out to the big picture, then get right into the reality of what’s happening on the ground.
Commercially sharp and comfortable with data, you know how to turn strategy into action, and keep looking for better ways of doing things.
And you do it all with empathy, resilience and a genuine connection to the purpose behind the work.
If you’re a seriously good people leader who wants your leadership to mean something beyond the numbers, this might be your next move.
