Wesco Anixter will very soon open the doors of a brand-new distribution centre in Almere. Our ideal candidate

• You have a bachelor's level of thinking and working, for example in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration;
• You have at least 7 years of experience in operations, including proven experience in a similar role as (Senior) Operations Manager or Site Manager within a distribution centre or contract logistics environment;
• You have extensive experience leading large teams (approx. 50 employees) and know how to motivate and develop people and hold them accountable for results;
• You have experience setting up or scaling up a (new) facility: fit-out, onboarding new customers and rolling out operational processes;
• You manage by KPIs for service quality, safety, productivity and customer satisfaction, and have a continuous improvement mindset (e.g. LEAN or Six Sigma);
• Experience with value added services such as kitting, testing, assembly or integration, preferably for tech or data centre customers, is a strong advantage;
• You are a strong counterpart at all levels: from employees on the floor to international management, customers, landlords and real estate;
• You have an excellent command of English, spoken and written, Dutch is preferred but not required;
• You have good knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with WMS systems;
• You are hands-on and self-reliant, and can manage multiple priorities at once with a strong sense of urgency;
• You are available for 37,5 hours per week.

Your new work environment

As Senior Manager Operations you are responsible for all activities involved in setting up a new distribution centre in Almere. You balance multiple priorities in a customer-focused environment and lead a multifunctional operation within the Centre of Excellence (COE). You manage various operational and technical teams delivering Supply Chain Services, including warehousing, inventory management, technical kitting, integration, testing and deployment support. Together with Sales, Engineering and customers, you deliver complex solutions for data centres and infrastructure. You deliver excellent customer service through operational excellence, project execution and problem solving. You monitor KPIs (key performance indicators) to improve service quality, safety, productivity and customer satisfaction. You are responsible for the operation and continuous improvement of a Level 5 facility supporting advanced technical services, burn-in capabilities, quality assurance and value-added supply chain solutions.

You hold management responsibility for one facility from which customers worldwide are supplied, and you lead at least 2 people managers. You manage a complex operation with multiple customer-specific requirements or services.

In addition, you are responsible for:

• P&L responsibility (expense-based) and preparing the annual budgets;
• Working capital, inventory and quality management systems;
• Compliance with audits, internal controls and ISO 9000;
• Recruiting, coaching and training employees, and performance management;
• Preventive maintenance of the building and equipment, and keeping the facility “tour-ready” at all times.
