Senior Manager, Software Engineering - Global Forwarding Technology

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering - Global Forwarding Technology to join the team of a leader in the Transportation space.

In this role, you will lead software engineering teams responsible for modernizing and automating complex operational workflows. You will partner closely with business and technology leaders to shape technical strategy, improve delivery, and align engineering efforts with broader business outcomes in a fast-moving transportation environment. This position will also drive the adoption of AI-enabled capabilities and practical engineering patterns that strengthen stability, security, and execution.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $127,500 – $295,900 annually

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to define strategy and align engineering teams with business outcomes
• Lead teams in modernizing and automating complex workflows
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure timely delivery of projects
• Identify opportunities for automation and AI to enhance operations
• Establish practical patterns for AI-enabled workflows with senior engineers
• Encourage experimentation with emerging technologies while maintaining engineering discipline
• Define and communicate technical strategy to ensure product stability and security

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering with increasing complexity and responsibility
• 4+ years of experience leading software engineering teams
• Experience delivering critical software in complex enterprise environments
• Proven ability to lead teams through ambiguity and changing priorities
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices and architecture
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
