Senior Manager, Software Engineering - RL Post-Training Frameworks

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering - RL Post-Training Frameworks to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space.

This leader will own the strategy and execution for reinforcement learning post-training frameworks that support advanced AI software development. The role will guide architecture and performance decisions across multiple domains, ensuring the frameworks are scalable, reliable, and effective for internal engineering needs. The Senior Manager will also partner with cross-functional teams to define benchmarking standards, improve reproducibility, and deliver measurable outcomes in a fast-moving technical environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $272,000 – $431,250 annually

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy for RL post-training frameworks
• Evaluate architecture and performance across multiple domains
• Guide teams on integrating RL frameworks to improve quality
• Establish criteria for benchmarking and reproducibility
• Build and develop a high-performing engineering team
• Create effective operational models for US and APAC teams
• Drive collaborations and set measurable delivery goals

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years in software engineering, including 4+ years as an engineering manager
• Strong technical background in distributed AI systems
• Experience defining technical strategy and making sound decisions
• Ability to influence and communicate tradeoffs to senior leaders
• Experience leading and developing engineering teams
• Proficiency in establishing engineering performance metrics
