Senior Manager, Test

The role

Allocortech builds Taurus FOC motor controllers, Clio power/comms hubs, and related power products for eVTOL, UAS, hybrid aircraft, and electric maritime programs. Hardware already flies. Test still lives in too many heads.

This is a senior manager seat, not a director of flight test. You will run and grow the test function — HIL and dyno, environmental and DO-160-path work, production end-of-line — and stay close enough to the bench that you can tell a bad current-sense trace from a firmware bug. You hire and prioritize. You still hook up the probes.

What you will do

• Run day-to-day test across the portfolio: HIL/SIL, motor-dyno and inverter characterization, environmental / qualification, and production EOL.
• Build and improve the lab — instrumentation, loads, safety, data acquisition, and automated regression EE and firmware can actually use.
• Lead testers and technicians: plan the week, hold the standard, coach, and hire the next person when the queue justifies it.
• Keep a living verification matrix so releases and SKUs are traceable for quality, customers, and AS9100 / CAPA.
• Sit with EE and FOC firmware on bring-up, thermal/EMI, current-loop truth, and field returns. Close issues; do not file them.
• Support customer integration tests without becoming their flight-test department.

What you bring

• 5+ years testing power electronics, motor drives, avionics, or safety-critical embedded systems. You have signed off hardware that shipped.
• 2+ years leading people or a test cell — even a small one. You have set a priority when two boards and one dyno showed up the same morning.
• Hands-on with HIL/SIL or automated benches, data acquisition, and at least one of: motor dyno, high-voltage inverter test, environmental chambers, or production EOL fixtures.
• Working literacy in requirements-based V&V and aerospace test language (DO-160, DO-178 path, MIL-STD-810). Certificates optional; judgment is not.
• Bonus: eVTOL/UAS/maritime programs, SiC/HV lab safety, Python or similar for automation, AS9100, building test from a bench into a function.

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
