Senior Manual QA with Intermediate SQL

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Manual QA with strong experience in manual testing, QA fundamentals, and intermediate SQL. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing testing activities, validating system functionality and data, managing defects, and ensuring that software meets business and technical requirements.

The role will also support test automation initiatives, QA process improvements, and mentoring of junior QA team members.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into test scenarios and test cases.
• Create and execute test cases, test scripts, test data, and RTM.
• Develop Test Plans, Test Strategies, and Master Test Plans.
• Estimate testing effort and resources based on project requirements.
• Perform functional, system, integration, regression, and application testing.
• Perform SQL/database validation to verify data accuracy and system behavior.
• Identify, reproduce, document, and track software defects.
• Retest defect fixes and validate new functionalities.
• Review test cases, test scripts, and test reports prepared by QA team members.
• Prepare Test Summary Reports and other QA documentation.
• Analyze test results and provide recommendations to improve product quality.
• Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Automation QA Engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Identify testing risks and provide recommendations to address quality concerns.
• Support and execute automated tests when required.
• Collaborate with Automation QA Engineers to identify opportunities for automation.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior QA team members.
• Lead QA/testing activities for assigned projects.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and practices.
• Ensure compliance with established SDLC, Agile/Waterfall, and QA processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's/College Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance and/or Software Testing.
• Strong experience in Manual Testing and QA fundamentals.
• Proficient in creating and executing test cases and test scripts.
• Experience in creating Test Plans and Master Test Plans.
• Strong understanding of test design techniques and QA methodologies.
• Good understanding of SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Intermediate SQL skills with experience in database validation.
• At least 1 year of experience with an automation testing tool.
• Experience with Playwright is an advantage.
• Experience with functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Knowledge of defect management and QA documentation.
• Experience leading testing activities or mentoring junior QA members is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and a good team player.
• Willing to work on a night-shift schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Playwright or other test automation tools.
• Experience in SQL/database testing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Experience in leading QA activities for small to medium-sized projects.
• ISTQB certification is a plus but not required.

• Location: Alabang, Muntinlupa
• Onsite: 3 days per week
• Remote: 2 days per week
• Shift: Night Shift
