Senior Manufacturing Operations

Specific Role Purpose

Our client is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to oversee manufacturing operations at its Contract Manufacturer (CM), in Masai Johor. The role is responsible for developing, qualifying, and sustaining manufacturing assembly and testing processes while driving product quality, factory performance, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.

The incumbent will work closely with Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Operations teams to support new product introductions, mass production, and sustaining activities for camera products. The role requires regular onsite engagement with the CM and collaboration with regional stakeholders across Asia and the United States.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee manufacturing processes at the Contract Manufacturer (CM) to support high-volume production.
2. Develop and qualify assembly, testing, and manufacturing processes for new product introductions.
3. Drive manufacturing line qualification, test validation, and production readiness activities.
4. Collaborate with Hardware, Software, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to improve Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
5. Establish and implement quality control plans across the manufacturing and supply chain network.
6. Monitor and drive factory performance metrics including yield, throughput, quality, and RMA performance.
7. Lead root cause investigation and corrective action activities using methodologies such as FMEA, RCCA, and 8D problem solving.
8. Identify and implement manufacturing process improvements through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and cycle-time optimization initiatives.
9. Support manufacturing sustaining activities throughout the product lifecycle until end-of-life.
10. Work closely with Supply Chain Management teams in Taiwan and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve manufacturing and operational issues.
11. Provide regular status updates and technical recommendations to management and project teams.
12. Champion a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and customer success.

Experience

1. Minimum 10 years of experience in high-volume electronics manufacturing environments.
2. Experience managing manufacturing operations at Contract Manufacturers (CM), ODM, or OEM facilities.
3. Proven background in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing test engineering, factory operations, and quality management.
4. Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI), mass production ramp-up, and sustaining engineering activities.
5. Exposure to wireless devices, RF products, optical systems, camera products, or similar electronic products would be an added advantage.
6. Experience working closely with Supply Chain Management teams and cross-functional engineering stakeholders.
7. Strong track record of driving manufacturing improvements, cost optimization, productivity, and quality enhancements.

Education

1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent discipline.
