What We’re Looking For:

• We are looking for a Senior Master Data Specialist to join our Global Master Data team.
• This is a hands-on Master Data role with additional technical ownership and project responsibilities. The successful candidate will actively perform day-to-day Master Data activities while also supporting more complex initiatives, quality assurance, task coordination and technical guidance within the Master Data Specialist team.
• The position does not require formal people management or Project Management responsibility. We are looking for an experienced Master Data professional who can combine strong operational expertise with autonomy, critical thinking, and technical coordination.
• Perform Master Data maintenance across multiple domains , including data cleansing, deduplication, harmonization, validation and mass data activities, with a focus on Master Services (MSER) / LIS-LOINC Mapping and Product Catalog.
• Take technical ownership of Master Data activities within projects and initiatives . Working closely with the Project Manager, translate business requirements into concrete Master Data tasks and deliverables, coordinate activities among the involved Master Data Specialists and follow up on dependencies, testing and completion.
• Apply critical, creative and solution-oriented thinking . Understand the business need behind a request, identify potential issues, constructively challenge requirements when appropriate and proactively propose feasible solutions.
• Perform QA, functional testing and validation of new implementations, enhancements and changes to the Master Data Portal, in close collaboration with the Data Quality Specialist.
• Perform quality reviews according to the Four-Eyes Principle , including the validation of Master Data changes and mass uploads and the review of required forms and supporting documentation.
• Perform and oversee recurring Master Data activities , ensuring that periodic tasks and controls, such as mapping and validation of Profit Centers, Cost Centers and Plants, are completed accurately and on time.
• Act as a senior technical point of reference for other Master Data Specialists, providing hands-on support, technical guidance and knowledge sharing for complex activities.
• Ensure business continuity and backup coverage by developing sufficient cross-domain knowledge to execute key activities performed by other Master Data Specialists and actively contributing to cross-training and process documentation.
• Proactively identify technical issues, dependencies, risks and improvement opportunities , taking ownership of finding solutions and escalating when necessary.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, the Data Quality Specialist, Global MDM and BI teams, technical teams and business stakeholders to support effective delivery and consistent Master Data standards.

Must Have:

• Solid hands-on professional experience in Master Data Management, Data Management or a comparable data-related role.
• Practical experience in Master Data maintenance, data cleansing, validation, harmonization, deduplication and/or mass data activities.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with proven ability to work efficiently with large and complex datasets.
• Practical SQL skills and experience working with databases, including querying and analysing data.
• Strong analytical, critical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand a business requirement, identify potential issues and propose appropriate solutions.
• A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, going beyond task execution to investigate issues and recommend improvements or alternative approaches.
• Experience working in projects or cross-functional initiatives, with the ability to translate requirements into structured activities, tasks and deliverables.
• Ability to combine hands-on execution with technical ownership and coordination, while remaining actively involved in operational activities.
• Strong attention to detail and a strong quality and testing mindset.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to clarify and constructively challenge requirements when needed.
• Ability and willingness to learn across different Master Data domains, share knowledge and provide operational backup for other team members.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• University degree or comparable professional qualification.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, particularly Master Data-related processes, tables or transactions within MM, FI or CO.
• Experience with project/work management tools such as Jira, including task tracking and documentation.
• Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and/or Power BI.
• Experience with Master Data Management platforms, Master Data portals or similar data management applications.
• Previous experience with functional or user acceptance testing of data-related applications or system enhancements.
• Domain knowledge of the medical laboratory or healthcare industry, particularly around Assets, Reagents and Lab Supply Materials, Business Partners, Master Services, Product Catalog, Facilities or Legal Entities.
