About the role

Imola Automotive Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanic to join our automotive engineering team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of vehicle maintenance, repair, and servicing. As Senior Mechanic, you will be responsible for overseeing complex mechanical operations, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring that all work meets our rigorous quality and safety standards. This position is integral to our commitment to delivering exceptional automotive engineering solutions and maintaining our reputation for excellence.

What you'll be doing

• Diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles, utilising advanced diagnostic equipment and specialist knowledge
• Performing comprehensive vehicle maintenance and servicing in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards
• Supervising and mentoring junior mechanics and apprentices, providing guidance on technical procedures and best practices
• Conducting thorough inspections of vehicles and documenting findings in a clear and professional manner
• Managing workshop operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and ensuring efficient workflow
• Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repairs undertaken
• Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues to minimise vehicle downtime
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the workshop
• Collaborating with the engineering team to identify improvements in maintenance procedures and vehicle performance
• Providing technical advice to customers regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs

What we're looking for

• Minimum 8 years of professional mechanical experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or supervisory capacity
• Advanced qualifications in automotive mechanics, engineering, or related discipline
• Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, braking systems, electrical systems, and suspension
• Proficiency in using modern diagnostic equipment and computer-aided repair systems
• Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues
• Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with proven experience managing and developing technical teams
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in automotive workshops
• Valid driving licence with a clean record
• Willingness to pursue continuous professional development and training in new automotive technologies
