Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - REVIT

Role Description The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Nigeria. This position is responsible for leading the mechanical design of equipment, systems, and components for engineering and construction projects, from initial concept through detailed design and documentation. Day-to-day tasks include developing and reviewing design calculations, creating and checking 3D models and drawings, preparing technical specifications, and ensuring designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements. The role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting procurement and fabrication with clear documentation, resolving design-related issues during construction, and mentoring junior engineers and designers. The engineer is expected to participate in design reviews, contribute to continuous improvement of design processes, and support project planning and scheduling as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with demonstrated experience applying mechanical principles to industrial or construction projects.
• Proficiency in Design Engineering and Machine Design, including component sizing, material selection, and failure analysis.
• Experience in Product Design and development, with the ability to translate functional requirements into robust mechanical solutions.
• Advanced skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and 3D modeling software used for mechanical design and detailing.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Several years of relevant experience in mechanical design within engineering, construction, or manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of applicable international and local engineering standards, codes, and best practices.
• Ability to lead projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide guidance to junior staff.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and design quality.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively on-site in Nigeria.
