manufacturing cost, and lifecycle cost without compromising quality, safety, or functionality.

  • Coordinate closely with Production, Procurement, Electrical, Automation, Quality, and

Installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, testing, Factory Acceptance Testing

(FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), installation, and commissioning.

  • Troubleshoot design-related issues during manufacturing and site execution and implement

effective engineering solutions.

  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for machine failures and recurring issues, and

implement permanent corrective actions.

  • Participate in project planning, technical reviews, risk assessment, and cost estimation

activities.

  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, reusable machine modules, and design best

practices.

  • Mentor junior design engineers and support their technical development.
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with company standards, applicable engineering

codes, safety requirements, and project timelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in designing Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) or custom

automation equipment.

  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and engineering drafting standards.
  • Sound knowledge of machine design, mechanisms, machine elements, fabrication, machining

processes, welding, and material selection.

  • Strong understanding of pneumatics, power transmission systems, structural design, and

machine assemblies.

  • Hands-on experience in the selection and sizing of motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts,

couplings, chains, belts, and pneumatic systems.

  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, engineering calculations, and

design validation.

  • Practical experience in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA), Design Failure

Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Value Engineering, Cost Engineering, and Root Cause

Analysis (RCA).

  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, sheet

metal, welding, assembly, and surface finishing.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in designing heavy industrial machinery involving conveyors, rotating equipment,

fabricated structures, shafts, bearings, power transmission systems, and material handling

equipment is highly preferred.

  • Experience in automation equipment, conveyors, pick-and-place systems, packaging

machines, recycling equipment, waste processing machinery, or similar industrial systems.
