Senior Mechanical Engineer

Senior Mechanical Engineer – Hertfordshire

I'm currently working on a Senior Mechanical Engineer opportunity with a growing engineering business in Hertfordshire.

This is a hands-on mechanical design role, working on the development of electromechanical products and taking projects from initial concept through to prototype, testing and manufacture.

You'll be involved in areas such as:

• Mechanical design and product development
• 3D CAD and detailed design
• Working with hydraulics, pneumatics, valves and flow-related systems
• Engineering calculations and design analysis
• Prototyping, build and testing
• Design for manufacture
• Working with castings, machined components and fabricated parts
• Design reviews, problem solving and validation
• Working closely with other engineering disciplines
• Supporting and mentoring more junior engineers

I'm ideally looking for someone with a strong mechanical engineering background who has worked on complex or high-integrity products, rather than purely general mechanical design.

There is also an opportunity to take on some technical leadership and help guide a small team, so experience mentoring or leading other engineers would be useful.
