  • Produce fabrication packages, system installation packages, and specifications
  • Perform engineering calculations for utilities, pump sizing, and system design validation
  • Review designs for compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements
  • Interpret and generate technical documents, including:
  • P&IDs
  • Isometrics
  • Equipment elevations and cut views
  • Bills of materials
  • Installation packages
  • Benchmark drawings

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead engineering design efforts for assigned projects
  • Manage project scope, schedules, and budgets to meet delivery commitments
  • Coordinate internal teams and external partners
  • Conduct project progress meetings with stakeholders and vendors
  • Support procurement activities, including RFQs, vendor selection, and contract oversight
  • Interface with accounting for project cost tracking and accuracy

Field & Implementation Support

  • Lead field activities during installation and system start-up phases
  • Troubleshoot design or integration issues on-site
  • Ensure deliverables are technically sound and implementation-ready

Team Development & Process Improvement

  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff
  • Review work products for accuracy and quality
  • Drive internal operational improvements and engineering best practices

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering (required)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

Experience

  • 5–7 years of mechanical engineering experience in one or more of the following:
  • Packaging systems
  • Process manufacturing
  • Automated production systems
  • Industrial equipment design

Technical Skill Requirements

Design & CAD

  • Strong 2D and 3D CAD experience (Autodesk environment preferred)
  • Ability to edit layouts and integrate scanned model data
  • Familiarity with Navisworks or similar tools

Manufacturing Systems Knowledge

Experience working within environments utilizing:

  • Lean Six Sigma principles
  • Just-In-Time manufacturing
  • Total Productive Maintenance
  • 5S / Kaizen / PDCA cycles

Industrial Automation Familiarity

Working knowledge of commonly used industrial devices, including:

  • VFDs, servo drives, motor starters
  • Pneumatics and solenoids
  • Sensors, photo eyes, transmitters, and flow meters
  • Safety systems (light curtains, interlocks, emergency stops)

Software

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • MS Project
  • AutoCAD or equivalent platforms

Core Competencies

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Independent problem-solving capability
  • Collaborative team orientation
  • Client-facing professionalism

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and industrial/manufacturing environments

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and project demands

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidates will be engineers who:

  • Enjoy both the design and execution phases of projects
