Senior Mechatronics Engineer

The role

You role covers the booklet feeder, single-leaf pick, sheet separation, page turn, hold-down and booklet exchange, from first sketch to a prototype running on the bench.

What you will do

• Design high-speed paper-handling mechanisms: vacuum and Bernoulli pick heads, air separation, page-turn motion, vacuum hold-down beds, feeders and conveyors.
• Size and specify pneumatics and vacuum from first principles: suction cups, ejectors, regenerative blowers, valves, proportional regulators.
• Select and integrate motion: closed-loop steppers, guided actuators, belts, lead screws, cams. Calculate torque, inertia match and cycle time.
• Produce manufacturing-ready CAD with GD&T and tolerance stack-ups, and work directly with fabricators and machine shops.
• Plan and run bench tests with logged data on pick reliability, double feeds, tearing and humidity effects. Let the data drive the design.
• Work with our firmware and vision engineers on sensor placement, timing windows and camera and lighting mounts.
• Lead the workshop technician, and build, debug and iterate prototypes with your own hands.

Must have

• 6+ years designing machines from concept to working prototype: special-purpose machines, packaging, printing, converting or similar.
• Hands-on design of pneumatic and vacuum handling on a machine you can describe in detail.
• High-speed mechanism design: you have hit a cycle-time target and know where every millisecond went.
• Strong 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor or NX), GD&T and design for manufacture.
• Experience managing Indian fabricators and component vendors.
• Based in Jaipur, on-site, 6-day week.

Strongly preferred

• Paper, film or sheet handling at speed: sheet feeders, folders, binders, banknote or mail sorting, label and flexible-packaging converting.
• Double-feed and jam detection (ultrasonic, optical, thickness).
• Integrating cameras and illumination into a machine.
