Senior Merchandiser – Textile & Home Textile

About Client: Coop Far East Ltd.

Coop Far East Limited is a leading Italian retailer Sourcing Office in Hong Kong, with main business activities in sourcing Hardgoods, Electronics, Homeware, Softline and Quality assurance (QE Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Social Compliance) in numerous Far East markets. They are now seeking motivated and talented candidates for the position of Senior Textile Merchandiser to be employed in their Hong Kong Headquarters.

Responsibilities:

Product development & sourcing coordination: Manage supplier collaboration, material sourcing, and support supplier identification and onboarding

Technical product development: Manage fitting sessions, size grading, and fit approvals for garments and basic apparel, coordinating with suppliers to ensure fit and construction are appropriate for the EU consumer

Quality & compliance support: Ensure materials, colors, and garments meet quality, performance, and regulatory standards, collaborating with suppliers to meet EU regulations and requirements

Supplier technical support & problem solving: Liaise with factories to resolve fitting, construction, and production issues during development and bulk production

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor degree in Fashion, Garment Technology, Textile Engineering, or equivalent
• At least 3–5 years of experience as a Senior Merchandiser or similar role
• Experience in sportswear, activewear, underwear, basic garment, nightwear and home textile products are highly desirable.
• Practical knowledge of fabrics and materials commonly used in above product categories
• Experience working with EU retailers or developing products for the EU market
• Experience in sourcing offices, buying offices, or mass-market / supermarket retail is a strong advantage
• Able to work under pressure, result oriented, excellent communication skills
• Well organized individuals, able to manage multiple tasks, strong problem-solving skills and able to meet deadlines
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to guide suppliers during the technical development process
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple styles simultaneously
• Good command of spoken Mandarin
• Good command of written and spoken English
