Senior Microsoft Endpoint & Cloud Security Engineer

Kestrel Eight is an ICT systems integrator. We are building a delivery team for a global technology client's workplace security engineering function, and we are looking for hands-on security engineers, not generalist endpoint administrators.

The engagement is a 6 month contract starting as soon as possible. You will be Melbourne based, with some light travel to Singapore possible.

You will specialise in one of two tracks:

• Secure operating environment: endpoint and server hardening baselines across Windows, macOS and Linux, device compliance, Defender endpoint controls and configuration drift reduction.
• Cloud and endpoint security: Defender for Endpoint, Defender Vulnerability Management and Defender for Cloud Apps, secure virtual desktop controls, and telemetry integration into Sentinel and ServiceNow.

What you must have

• 7 or more years in cybersecurity or security engineering
• Hands-on Microsoft Defender for Endpoint in an enterprise estate
• Hardening work you have personally delivered, such as CIS Benchmarks, Microsoft security baselines or attack surface reduction
• Intune experience, plus JAMF or Linux hardening for the secure operating environment track
• Automation skills with PowerShell, Microsoft Graph or KQL
• Australian work rights and the ability to travel to Singapore occasionally

Nice to have

• Defender Vulnerability Management or Defender for Cloud Apps
• Virtual desktop security
• Sentinel integration
• SC-200, CISSP or CCSP

This may not be the right role if your experience is endpoint administration, application packaging or device migrations without a security engineering focus.
