Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior MS SQL Developer / Database Architect with 10+ years of strong experience in Microsoft SQL Server. The candidate should have excellent SQL coding skills, strong database maintenance expertise, and the ability to design scalable, secure and high-performing database architectures.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and database objects.
Design and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable database architectures.
¢ Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries and database performance.
¢ Review execution plans, identify bottlenecks, and implement indexing and query-tuning strategies.
¢ Perform database maintenance including backups, restores, integrity checks, statistics updates, and storage management.
¢ Monitor database health, capacity, performance, and availability in production environments.
¢ Design and implement high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions.
¢ Manage database security, users, roles, permissions, and access controls.
¢ Support production issues and provide root-cause analysis and resolution.
¢ Review database designs and provide technical guidance to development teams.
¢ Establish SQL coding standards and database development best practices.
¢ Identify and reduce technical debt while improving database stability and maintainability.
¢ Participate in architecture discussions, technology evaluations, and Proof-of-Concepts.
¢ Mentor SQL developers and conduct code reviews.
¢ Collaborate with application developers, DevOps, infrastructure, and business teams.
Required Technical Skills
¢ 10+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
¢ Strong expertise in T-SQL programming.
¢ Advanced knowledge of stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, CTEs, temporary tables, and dynamic SQL.
¢ Strong knowledge of database design, normalization, relationships, constraints, and data integrity.
¢ Excellent understanding of indexing, execution plans, statistics, query optimization, and performance tuning.
¢ Strong experience in database maintenance, backup and recovery, and production support.
¢ Experience with SQL Server security, authentication, authorization, roles, and permissions.
¢ Strong understanding of transactions, locking, blocking, deadlocks, and concurrency.
¢ Experience designing scalable and high-performance database architectures.
¢ Good knowledge of Always On Availability Groups, replication, and log shipping.
¢ Experience with large databases and high-volume transactional systems.
Good to Have
¢ Experience with SSIS and SSRS.
¢ Exposure to Azure SQL Database / Managed Instance.
¢ Knowledge of PowerShell or database automation.
¢ Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices for database deployments.
¢ Exposure to cloud-based database architecture and migration projects.

Education
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
