Senior .NET Developer – Daily rate contract

Location: Dublin

Working Pattern: Hybrid – Three Days Onsite per Week

Contract: Initial Six-Month Daily Rate Contract with a View to Permanent

My client is seeking an experienced Senior .NET Developer to join a technology team responsible for developing a large-scale foreign exchange order management platform.

This is a hands-on development role offering the opportunity to contribute to technical design, influence engineering standards and provide guidance to other developers.

The position will initially be offered as a six-month daily rate contract, with the intention of converting the successful candidate to a permanent role.

The Role

You will design, develop and deliver scalable applications supporting complex, business-critical financial systems.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing applications using .NET Core, C#, T-SQL, React.js and Kafka.
• Delivering new functionality, system enhancements and process improvements.
• Analysing complex business and technical requirements.
• Translating requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions.
• Developing REST APIs, microservices and event-driven applications.
• Contributing to application architecture and technical design decisions.
• Ensuring solutions align with established architecture and engineering standards.
• Supporting coding, testing, debugging, deployment and implementation activities.
• Troubleshooting complex and high-impact application issues.
• Working closely with Product, Architecture, Infrastructure and other Engineering teams.
• Contributing to coding standards, development practices and code quality.
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to other developers.
• Supporting project planning, prioritisation and successful delivery.
• Ensuring security, risk, compliance and operational resilience requirements are considered throughout development.

What We’re Looking For

• Six or more years’ experience in software or application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET Core.
• Strong T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server experience.
• Experience developing front-end applications using React.js.
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven or message-based systems.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
• Knowledge of WebSockets and real-time applications.
• Experience with Docker and OpenShift or a similar container platform.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, system design and software development best practices.
• Experience delivering complex applications within an enterprise environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and work across multiple projects.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience mentoring developers or providing technical guidance would be advantageous.
• Previous financial services, foreign exchange, securities or capital markets experience would be beneficial.

Education

Please note: This position requires attendance at the Dublin office three days per week. It will initially be offered as a six-month daily rate contract, with a view to conversion to a permanent role.
