Senior .NET Developer

Location/Remote: Remote (must live within the continental U.S.)

Employment Type: Indefinite Contract (W-2 or 1099/IC)

Compensation: Up to $80/hour W-2 or $87/hour 1099

Independent Contractors: Open to individuals who have an LLC or S-Corp (not 3rd party eligible)

The Senior .NET Developer role is focused on building, enhancing, and supporting enterprise applications and integrations on the Microsoft stack. Success means delivering reliable production-ready solutions, improving application performance and data throughput, and troubleshooting issues end-to-end across application code, APIs, and SQL. You will take ownership of key components, contribute to technical decisions, and apply AI-enabled tools responsibly to accelerate development and improve quality.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and support .NET applications using C#, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Core MVC, and modern .NET, with a focus on production stability and maintainability.
• Build and evolve RESTful APIs and integration services that enable secure, reliable communication across multiple systems.
• Implement data-access layers and SQL Server solutions for data-driven applications, including performance tuning and patterns that support high-volume workloads.
• Support and modernize existing ASP.NET MVC applications while developing newer ASP.NET Core MVC solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues by tracing failures across application code, API dependencies, SQL performance, and supporting services.
• Integrate AI capabilities into the development workflow, such as using generative AI APIs/services or AI-assisted development tools to improve developer efficiency and solution quality.
• Drive code quality through thoughtful design, testable implementations, code reviews, and pragmatic refactoring to reduce defects and operational burden.
• Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions while remaining highly hands-on in development.

Required Skills:

• 7+ years of hands-on software development experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET MVC, and/or ASP.NET Core MVC, including independent delivery and production support.
• Strong recent experience developing and supporting ASP.NET Core MVC applications.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs, service layers, and system-to-system integrations.
• Strong SQL Server / SQL skills for building data-driven applications, including queries, database changes, performance tuning, and handling large data volumes.
• Experience with Azure-hosted .NET applications, including deployment, configuration, or troubleshooting.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience contributing to application architecture decisions, including design patterns and scalable approaches, while remaining hands-on in implementation.
• Experience modernizing legacy ASP.NET or .NET Framework applications
• Experience building and supporting business-critical, enterprise-scale applications with complex production dependencies and operational requirements.
• Practical experience using or integrating generative AI, AI APIs/services, or AI-assisted development tools within a software engineering environment.
