Senior Network Engineer

Essential Technical Skills

• Extensive experience in network orchestration, network virtualisation, and network automation .
• Strong hands-on knowledge of ETSI Open Source MANO , including platform deployment, administration, service onboarding, and lifecycle management.
• Extensive experience with VNF and CNF lifecycle management .
• Strong knowledge of VMware vCenter and VMware Integrated OpenStack .
• Practical experience administering and supporting Kubernetes-based platforms .
• Strong understanding of OpenStack, Linux, networking, containers, Helm, and cloud-native technologies .
• Experience creating and maintaining YANG-based network descriptors .
• Strong automation and scripting capabilities, particularly using Python, Robot Framework, YAML, and CI/CD pipelines .
• Experience with Git, Helm charts, automated testing, configuration management, platform monitoring, and incident management .
• Advanced troubleshooting skills covering log analysis, service debugging, root-cause analysis, and performance investigation

Experience and Qualifications

• 10–12 years of relevant experience in telecommunications networks, network orchestration, virtualisation, network automation, cloud infrastructure, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Demonstrable experience delivering or supporting complex carrier-grade or enterprise telecommunications platforms.
• Proven involvement in the design, deployment, integration, testing, and operational support of virtualised and cloud-native network services.
• Experience working across production, test, development, and R&D environments.
• Previous responsibility for resolving technically complex, service-impacting incidents.
• Relevant industry certifications in Kubernetes, VMware, OpenStack, Linux, cloud platforms, networking, or DevOps would be advantageous.
• Experience integrating OSM with multiple virtual infrastructure managers or cloud environments.
• Knowledge of ETSI NFV architecture, MANO principles, service function chaining, and software-defined networking.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and declarative configuration practices.
• Good to have: Experience with observability and monitoring platforms used across Kubernetes, OpenStack, and virtualised infrastructure.
• Good to have: Experience delivering solutions in regulated, security-sensitive, or high-availability environments.
• Good to have: Understanding of secure engineering, access management, vulnerability remediation, and operational resilience.
• Good to have: Experience contributing to technical architecture, engineering standards, and platform roadmaps.
