Senior Network Engineer

Sr. Network Engineer 6-month contract

Location: Santa Clara, CA (onsite)

Pay: $60-65/hr (Compensation can vary depending on experience) General Overview We are seeking an experience Senior Network Engineer to support and maintain a large-scale enterprise network environment. This individual will play a key role in ensuring network availability, performance, and reliability across office and production environments.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on expertise in Cisco networking technologies, enterprise routing and switching, wireless infrastructure, and network troubleshooting. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who can independently resolve complex technical issues while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams and ongoing network operations and infrastructure improvements.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day network operations, including troubleshooting, incident resolution, and performance optimization across enterprise LAN/WAN environments.
• Support and maintain campus network infrastructure, including routing, switching, and wireless connectivity.
• Diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity, performance, and availability issues impacting end users and business operations.
• Troubleshoot and support Cisco-based wireless networks, including investigating access, coverage, and connectivity issues.
• Execute network installations, hardware replacements, configuration changes, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance activities.
• Monitor network health and performance, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with distributed network engineering and infrastructure teams to support technical initiatives, resolve escalated issues, and maintain consistent network standards.
• Provide technical support across corporate office and production-related network environments.
• Maintain accurate network documentation, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve network stability, security, and overall infrastructure performance.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in network engineering, network administration, or enterprise network support.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies.
• Proven experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise campus network environments.
• Practical experience diagnosing and resolving Cisco wireless networking issues.
• Solid understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, network protocols, and enterprise connectivity.
• Experience with network monitoring tools, incident management, and ongoing infrastructure support.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently and drive them through resolution.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams and end users.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Cisco DNA Center (DNAC) for network management, visibility, or automation.
• Familiarity with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and network access control.
• Experience supporting Palo Alto firewalls and related network security technologies.
• Background supporting complex corporate, manufacturing, or production network environments.
• Cisco network certifications, with CCNP preferred.
