Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in the operating room, including preparing instruments and equipment for surgery.
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols to prevent infections.
• Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth surgical procedures.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in their condition during surgery.
• Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes.
• Participate in the orientation and training of junior nursing staff and students.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in surgical nursing and operating room procedures.
• Assist in the management of the OT inventory, ensuring that supplies and equipment are stocked and maintained.
• Follow hospital policies and procedures while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and compassion.

Skills and Tools Required:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license.
• Proven experience in an operating theatre environment, with expertise in surgical procedures.
• Strong assessment skills to monitor patient conditions effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of infection control practices and protocols.
• Proficient in the use of medical equipment commonly used in surgical settings.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and patient management software.
