What they need
Join our team as a Sales Order Processing (SOPs) Senior Nursery Operative
We are a well-established plant nursery with multiple sites in East Yorkshire, dedicated to growing and supplying high-quality ornamental plants. An opportunity for a reliable and motivated Senior Nursery Operative has arisen for someone who can bring a new perspective and energy to the team. If you have a background in horticulture or a production-focused environment and a keen eye for detail, this could be the ideal next step.
About the role
As a SOPs Senior Nursery Operative, you will support the SOPs Supervisor and Manager in the smooth running of the sales order processing function. From coordinating the team’s daily tasks to ensuring plants are labelled, packed, and dispatched with care and accuracy, you’ll help maintain high standards and keep everything running like clockwork. You’ll also assist with stock control, team communication, and ensure all work is carried out in line with safe operating procedures and company policies.
You will help with a range of day-to-day tasks, but the key responsibilities will include:
· Support the daily organisation of SOPs team activities
· Accurately process and prepare plant orders for dispatch
· Maintain order records and assist with sales documentation
· Monitor plant quality and report any issues
· Uphold stock accuracy and report discrepancies
· Ensure compliance with nursery health and safety standards
· Participate in training and development sessions
What we are looking for
· A calm and methodical approach under pressure
· Strong organisational and delegation skills
· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
· A keen eye for detail and pride in doing things well
· Basic understanding of pests, diseases, and plant quality standards
· A willingness to learn and support across nursery operations
A background in commercial horticulture is an advantage but a role of a similar level with transferable skills will also be considered. Full training will be provided. Full UK driving licence preferable but not essential.
Why Join Us?
