Senior Odoo Developer / Technical Lead

Amnis is looking for an experienced Senior Odoo Developer / Technical Lead to join and lead a Pakistan-based Odoo development team working on an ERP implementation for a German food retail client.

The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced project lead in Germany during the implementation phase, taking responsibility for custom Odoo development, technical architecture, integrations, code quality and development standards. Following implementation, the Pakistan team will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation and continued development of the Odoo environment.

This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to work on further international Odoo implementations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain custom Odoo modules and extensions.
• Take technical ownership of Odoo development within the Pakistan team.
• Review code and maintain development and testing standards.
• Work closely with the project lead in Germany and translate functional requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Develop solutions across Accounting, Inventory and Purchase workflows.
• Implement and support inventory processes involving lots, expiry/best-before dates and FEFO.
• Manage Odoo upgrades and migration of custom modules.
• Work with Odoo.sh development, staging and production environments.
• Develop and maintain APIs and integrations with external systems.
• Diagnose and optimise Odoo performance issues.
• Write and maintain automated tests.
• Support testing, go-live and post-implementation operations.
• Mentor other developers and contribute to technical decisions.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and communicate progress, risks and issues effectively.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Odoo development experience.
• Strong recent experience with Odoo 17 or newer, Enterprise Edition.
• Strong Python and Odoo ORM development skills.
• Experience developing production-grade custom Odoo modules.
• Strong experience with Inventory, Purchase and/or Accounting.
• Practical knowledge of lots, expiry dates and FEFO inventory processes.
• Experience completing at least two Odoo version upgrades/migrations.
• Strong working knowledge of Odoo.sh.
• Experience with Git, code reviews and automated testing.
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimise production Odoo applications.
• Strong understanding of access rights, record rules and multi-company environments.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Ability to communicate professionally with international stakeholders.
• Strong ownership, leadership and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

• Food retail, FMCG, warehousing or supply-chain systems.
• EDI or B2B integrations.
• REST APIs and external system integrations.
• German accounting/localisation processes.
• Experience leading or mentoring an Odoo development team.
• Current Odoo certification.

Candidates who are not currently Odoo certified should be willing to obtain the applicable certification by January 2027.

Working Hours & Availability

The role requires availability during core collaboration hours of:

09:00–16:00 German time
Approximately 13:00–20:00 PKT during winter.

Candidates must also be willing to participate in a limited on-call rota during the February–March 2027 go-live period, including occasional Saturdays.

Data Security

The project involves an international client environment with strict security requirements. The successful candidate must be comfortable with:

• Working exclusively with anonymised project data.
• Signing an NDA.
• Multi-factor authentication and company-managed accounts.
• Secure development practices.
• Encrypted work devices.
• Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding client information.

Production client data will not be accessible from Pakistan.
