Senior OpenShift Platform Engineer

Senior OpenShift Platform Engineer - Enterprise Networking (Cilium/eBPF) - Remote - Applicants Must Be EU Citizens

This role designs, implements and supports enterprise grade Red Hat OpenShift environments, with specialised knowledge in Cilium, eBPF and Isovalent Enterprise for Cilium, building scalable, secure and highly available container platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, administer and optimise enterprise Red Hat OpenShift platforms across development, testing and production.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters with a focus on high availability, scalability, performance and security.
• Implement and troubleshoot container networking, including Kubernetes CNI frameworks and OVN-Kubernetes architectures.
• Deploy, configure and support Cilium and Isovalent Enterprise for Cilium, leveraging eBPF for networking, security and observability.
• Develop automation for platform provisioning, upgrades, patching and lifecycle management.
• Monitor platform health, capacity and performance, and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

Key skills and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years managing Kubernetes based container platforms, with strong hands on Red Hat OpenShift administration.
• Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes networking and container networking interfaces, including OVN-Kubernetes and network policies.
• Hands on experience with Cilium and Isovalent Enterprise for Cilium, and understanding of eBPF architecture and use cases.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible or similar).

Desirable:

• Red Hat OpenShift certifications (RHCSA, RHCE or OpenShift Administration/Development).
• CKA or CKS certification.
• Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
• Experience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana or OpenTelemetry.
