SENIOR OPERATION MANAGER (Freight Forwarder & Logistics)

About the role

This is a senior operations leadership position overseeing daily operations of an Airport Free Zone facility. You will lead the operations team through expansion and full-scale management, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and timely service delivery across air-freight operations, customs clearance, and cargo movements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and timely service delivery
• Prepare the operations team for the expansion and full-scale management of the Airport Free Zone operation
• Develop operational plans, workflows, staffing structures, and resource allocation strategies
• Provide leadership and operational support during staff shortages, emergencies, and peak periods
• Identify operational risks and implement prompt corrective and preventive actions
• Ensure all operational incidents are properly documented, investigated, reported, and followed through
• Maintain strong relationships with airlines, customs-related parties, forwarding partners, vendors, and service providers
• Oversee bookings, uplift planning, flight schedules, AWB stock, customs processes, and cargo movements
• Monitor operational KPIs and prepare regular performance reports for management
• Build a high-performing team by promoting accountability, collaboration, discipline, and service excellence

About you

• Senior-level experience in operations or logistics management
• Strong professional background in a freight forwarding and/or customs brokerage company
• Solid understanding of air-freight operations, customs clearance, airport procedures, and regulatory compliance
• Proven experience in managing complex, high-volume, or multi-location operations
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and hold teams accountable for performance
• Strong managerial and leadership capabilities—not only technical or operational expertise
• Ability to establish effective processes, improve operational performance, and lead organizational change
• Strong commercial awareness, cost-control capability, and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills
• Good command of Thai and English
