Position Summary

The Centre Manager will be fully responsible for the daily operations of the Hong Kong Seeing Eye Dogs Service Centre, covering external affairs coordination, facility and equipment management, public education, volunteer management, public relations management, as well as actively securing organisational resources (including writing grant proposals, managing donor and foundation relations). This position requires working across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure and service quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Centre Operations and Administration

Overall coordination and execution of daily centre operations, ensuring all targets and service plans progress on schedule.

Manage centre administration, including documentation, meeting arrangements, report consolidation.

Formulate and implement the annual operational plan.

2. Facility Management

Oversee equipment and facility maintenance and safety inspections, ensuring compliance.

Identify and manage operational risks, establish emergency response mechanisms.

3. Public Education and Community Outreach

Design and implement public education programmes (e.g., seminars, experiential workshops, media campaigns) to enhance public understanding and acceptance of guide dog services.

Build collaborative relationships with community partners to expand service reach.

4. Volunteer Management

Develop volunteer management systems, covering recruitment, evaluation and incentive mechanisms.

Foster a positive and proactive volunteer team culture, ensuring sufficient manpower to support operational needs.

5. Public Relations

Handle public enquiries, suggestions or complaints, providing professional, courteous and proactive responses.

Maintain a positive organisational image and manage crisis communications appropriately.

6. Service Development

Assist in preparation of program proposals to seek funding from, private or public funders.

Manage relationships with existing donors and foundations, conduct regular communication and reporting, and expand new resource networks.

Monitor and report on the effective use of funding, ensuring compliance, impact assessment and legal regulations.

Requirements

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Social Work, Business Administration, Public Administration or related disciplines.

Minimum 5 years of full‑time work experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role (experience in welfare organisations / NGOs preferred).

Combined experience in both commercial and social service organisations is an advantage. Prior experience in writing grant proposals and successfully securing funding from foundations, corporations or government sources is an added advantage.

Experience in donor relations, corporate partnerships and external fundraising  is an added advantage.

Professional Skills

Excellent communication and written skills in both Chinese and English .

Proficient in standard office software; ability to use AI and data analysis to support grant applications and resource planning is an advantage.
