About the role

We are seeking a Senior Operations Manager to join us in Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a critical strategic role in overseeing and optimising our retail and consumer products operations. As Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, implementing efficient processes, and ensuring seamless day-to-day management across our retail facilities. This role is integral to supporting the growth and success of our business whilst maintaining the highest standards of customer service and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily retail operations across assigned locations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance profitability
• Manage and supervise retail staff, including recruitment, training, performance management, and team development
• Monitor inventory levels, stock rotation, and supply chain management to ensure optimal product availability
• Ensure a positive customer experience by implementing and maintaining excellent service standards
• Analyse operational metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and report findings to senior management
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for assigned operations
• Maintain health, safety, and security standards across all retail operations
• Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operational functioning
• Lead and mentor junior management and operational teams to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in retail operations management or a similar supervisory role within the retail and consumer products sector
• Proven track record of successfully managing retail facilities and achieving operational targets
• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making
• Proficiency in retail management systems, point-of-sale (POS) software, and inventory management tools
• Sound knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements in retail operations
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Fluency in English and Malay; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is an advantage
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required
• Diploma or degree qualification in Business Management, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred
• Proven ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and high-quality service standards
