About the Opportunity

Turning Point is partnering with a leading regional transportation provider to identify an experienced Senior Operations Manager. This leader will oversee all operational aspects of a large, multi-service location with a workforce of more than a thousand employees, multiple facilities, and a fleet of several hundred vehicles. The role leads an Assistant Operations Manager and a team of Transportation Coordinators.

This is a field-based leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in developing strong teams, and is committed to safely and reliably serving customers our client partners with.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for school district partners, building strong, lasting relationships
• Lead and reinforce a safety-first culture across all operations
• Review key operational metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and act on the results
• Interview, hire, and train Transportation Coordinators and Supervisors, and develop a pipeline of internal talent for advancement
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels for drivers and monitors, and prepare monthly work schedules
• Ensure all employees hold proper certifications, training, and licensing
• Oversee vehicle maintenance so the fleet remains in a high state of readiness
• Review and prepare monthly billing and payroll
• Serve as the primary contact for outside vendors

Qualifications

• 7+ years of operations management experience, ideally in transportation, fleet, logistics, or another environment with a large field workforce
• Proven ability to lead managers and supervisors in a high-volume operation
• Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills, with experience managing client or stakeholder relationships
• Detail-oriented, with a high standard of accuracy and confidentiality
• Familiarity with local roads, distances, and travel times in the Merrimack Valley area is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Good driving record
• Comfortable with early-morning hours and able to remain composed under pressure
