Senior Oracle Middleware Specialist

Location: Utrecht – hybrid (50% on-site)

Hours: 36 hours per week

Start: 5 January 2027

Duration: Temporary assignment

A large public-sector ICT environment is preparing several long-term Oracle lifecycle management (LCM) and migration projects. The specialist will independently lead technical migrations and upgrades, support application teams, and automate middleware patching.

Must-have

• Approximately 10 years of Oracle WebLogic / DBA experience.
• Approximately 10 years of enterprise IT experience.
• Approximately 10 years of Linux experience, preferably RHEL.
• Strong Bash scripting skills.
• Experience with Oracle middleware and database lifecycle management.
• Ability to independently prepare and execute technical migration projects.

Nice-to-have

• Oracle WebLogic 12c to 14c migrations.
• Oracle Database 19c to 26ai upgrades.
• Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, including migration to version 24c.
• Experience with Oracle BPM, OSB, SOA and RMAN.
• Scripting and automation using Bash, Jython or Python.
• Oracle APEX.
• Performance tuning.

Other important remarks

• Lead and coordinate lifecycle management projects, including user alignment and planning.
• Support and advise application teams during migrations.
• Automate middleware patching and rollout processes.
• Transfer knowledge and provide work instructions to the existing Oracle team.
• Must be communicative, independent, collaborative and comfortable taking the lead.
• Deployment through a supplier-employed professional is permitted; self-employed deployment is subject to assignment-specific conditions.
