Senior Outsystems Developer

Role Summary The OutSystems Senior Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining complex enterprise applications and reusable components using OutSystems technologies. The role requires strong technical expertise, ownership of end-to-end feature delivery, and the ability to independently implement scalable and maintainable business solutions.

The Senior Developer works closely with Tech Leads, Architects, Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA teams, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet functional, performance, security, and operational requirements.

Scope of Work & Key Responsibilities Application Design & Development:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using OutSystems ODC.
• Translate business requirements and technical designs into scalable application features.
• Build reusable components, modules, and enterprise services.
• Implement application security, validation, logging, and exception handling mechanisms.
• Follow established engineering standards, coding practices, and architecture guidelines.

Technical Design & Integration

• Contribute to technical design, application decomposition, and data modeling activities.
• Develop integrations using REST APIs, SOAP services, and enterprise systems.
• Implement authentication, data validation, data mappings, and error-handling mechanisms.
• Work with SQL databases and optimize application data access performance.
• Participate in technical discussions and architectural reviews.

Quality, Testing & Performance

• Conduct unit testing and participate in integration and regression testing activities.
• Resolve application defects and production issues.
• Perform code reviews and address review findings.
• Optimize application performance and database operations.
• Ensure delivery aligns with functional and non-functional requirements.

Collaboration & Mentoring

• Partner with architects, tech leads, analysts, QA teams, and developers.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and estimations.
• Mentor junior developers and support technical skill development.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of OutSystems development experience.
• Strong expertise in OutSystems ODC and OutSystems 11.
• Experience developing Reactive Web Applications.
• Solid knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data modeling.
• Experience implementing REST API integrations.
• Understanding of software architecture, reusable component design, and Agile delivery practices.
• Hands-on experience with testing, deployment, and production support activities.

Preferred Skills

• OutSystems Professional Developer Certification.
• ODC modernization and migration experience.
• CI/CD and DevOps experience.
• Application monitoring and observability tools.
• Enterprise integration and security implementation experience.
