Senior Painter ## Role Overview Nandan GSE is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Painter to join our team at the Khalapur facility. This pivotal role involves the independent execution of high-quality industrial painting for fabricated structures and assemblies across our diverse product lines, including Ground Support Equipment (GSE), Defence Systems, and Material Handling Equipment (MHE). The Senior Painter will be instrumental in ensuring impeccable paint quality, maintaining aesthetic standards, and driving a culture of zero rework. Beyond technical execution, this role also carries the responsibility of mentoring junior painters and helpers, contributing to team development and upholding stringent safety and operational discipline. ## Key Responsibilities * Independently execute surface preparation, priming, and final painting processes strictly adhering to specifications and quality standards. * Ensure consistent dry film thickness, gloss, finish, and overall customer-grade aesthetics on all painted components. * Fluently operate and maintain various painting equipment, including airless and conventional spray systems. * Drive initiatives to achieve zero rework and consistently deliver customer-grade finishes that meet or exceed expectations. * Strictly enforce and adhere to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols, proper paint handling procedures, and safe storage practices. * Act as a mentor and guide for Junior Painters and helpers, fostering their skill development and adherence to best practices. * Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of spray guns, painting equipment, and the paint booth to ensure optimal performance and longevity. * Champion 5S methodology and maintain high levels of discipline and organization within the painting area. ## Required Skills & Qualifications * **Experience**: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial painting. * **Technical Skills**: * Proficiency in surface preparation techniques (cleaning, sanding, masking). * Expertise in primer and topcoat application. * Fluent operation of airless and conventional spray equipment. * In-depth knowledge of industrial paint systems, including Epoxy and Polyurethane (PU) coatings. * Strong understanding and application of quality control principles in painting. * **Soft Skills**: * Strong quality and discipline orientation. * Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior staff effectively. * Unwavering commitment to safety practices and protocols. * Proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving and task execution. ## Preferred Qualifications (Good-to-Have Skills) * ITI Painter certification or equivalent vocational training. * Additional industrial painting certifications. * Familiarity with and practical application of 5S methodology. * A proven "zero rework" mindset and track record. ## What We're Looking For We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual who takes immense pride in their craft.
