Senior Paralegal
Central London – Hybrid 3 days a week
£40,000 - £50,000 + Benefits
Our client is seeking a proactive, commercially minded Senior Paralegal to support its corporate legal function. Working closely with the Head of Legal, you will be a trusted first point of contact for colleagues across the business, helping manage contracts, governance, compliance and a varied range of day-to-day legal matters.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting the Head of Legal with document tracking, renewals, signing processes, meetings and external advisers.
- Reviewing and drafting commercial and corporate documentation, including managing NDA negotiations.
- Conducting legal research across areas such as HR, intellectual property, regulation and corporate governance, and preparing clear internal summaries.
- Supporting the Company Secretary function through filings, board packs, meeting coordination and board minutes.
- Helping develop, monitor and audit company policies and compliance programmes, including risk assessments and remedial actions.
- Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and improving legal processes through practical technology solutions.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in a corporate environment, ideally within an in-house legal team or a large law firm.
- Practical experience of commercial and corporate contracts, company law, compliance and stakeholder management; property law exposure is advantageous.
- A confident “doer” who is comfortable tackling unfamiliar tasks, applying sound judgement and working independently.
- Strong negotiation, communication, research and drafting skills.
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and a solutions-focused approach.
- Confidence working with senior leaders and handling sensitive business matters.
- A law degree or legal conversion is helpful but not essential where relevant legal experience can be demonstrated.
Previous experience in the utilities sector would be ideal, although candidates from other regulated industries will also be considered.
Why apply?
This is a high-visibility role offering broad exposure across commercial contracts, corporate governance and compliance, with direct access to senior decision-makers. You will have the opportunity to take real ownership, improve legal processes and build valuable in-house experience within a growing, fast-paced organisation.
