Senior Pattern Master + CAD Operator

About the Role

Ishmat Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Senior Pattern Master + CAD Operator to take ownership of pattern development, CAD pattern making, grading, fit corrections, and technical support for our apparel collections.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, fitting, measurements, grading, and CAD software. The candidate will work closely with the Fashion Design, Merchandising, Sampling, and Production teams to ensure accurate and production-ready patterns.

Key Responsibilities1. Pattern Development

• Develop accurate patterns from sketches, reference samples, measurements, and design specifications.
• Create patterns for different apparel styles and product categories.
• Develop basic blocks, style patterns, and production-ready patterns.
• Convert designer concepts into technically accurate garment patterns.
• Modify and refine patterns based on design and production requirements.

2. CAD Pattern Making

• Create and modify garment patterns using CAD software.
• Digitize existing paper patterns into CAD.
• Develop accurate pattern layouts, markers, and pattern pieces.
• Maintain proper pattern naming, version control, and documentation.
• Prepare production-ready CAD files according to required specifications.

3. Grading & Size Development

• Perform accurate size grading according to approved size charts.
• Develop size sets and ensure consistent grading across sizes.
• Check measurements and grading points for accuracy.
• Prepare patterns according to different size specifications and product requirements.

4. Fit & Sampling

• Work closely with the sampling team during prototype development.
• Analyze fit issues and make necessary pattern corrections.
• Conduct fitting sessions and identify issues related to:
• Fit
• Balance
• Measurements
• Ease
• Shape
• Garment construction
• Make pattern corrections based on fit comments and approved samples.
• Ensure final patterns achieve the required fit and appearance.

5. Technical & Production Support

• Prepare accurate measurement charts, pattern specifications, and technical details.
• Coordinate with Fashion Designers, Merchandisers, Sampling Masters, and Production teams.
• Ensure patterns are practical for bulk production and suitable for manufacturing.
• Provide technical solutions for construction and fitting challenges.
• Support production teams with pattern-related queries and corrections.
• Maintain proper records of approved patterns and revisions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience as a Pattern Master / Pattern Maker / CAD Pattern Master.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction and pattern making.
• Excellent understanding of body measurements, garment measurements, fit, ease, and proportions.
• Strong practical knowledge of grading and size development.
• Proficiency in professional CAD pattern-making software.
• Ability to create patterns from sketches, measurements, samples, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of fabrics and their behaviour during garment construction.
• Ability to identify and correct fitting and pattern-related issues.
• Good knowledge of apparel manufacturing and production processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Product Experience

Experience in the following categories will be an advantage:

• Nightwear
• Activewear / Sportswear
• Gymwear
• Knitwear
• Casualwear
• Loungewear
• Women's & Men's Apparel
• Stretch and knitted fabrics

Experience with different fabric constructions, stretch fabrics, knits, and performance materials will be highly preferred.

CAD & Technical Skills

The candidate should be comfortable working with:

• CAD pattern making
• Pattern digitization
• Pattern grading
• Marker making
• Size set development
• Measurement/specification sheets
• Pattern corrections and revisions
• Production-ready pattern preparation

Knowledge of software such as Lectra, Gerber, Optitex, Tukatech, or similar CAD systems will be preferred.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a technically strong and experienced Pattern Master who can independently handle the complete pattern development process, from initial design interpretation to final production-ready patterns.

The ideal candidate should have a combination of traditional pattern-making expertise and strong CAD skills, along with a practical understanding of garment fitting, construction, fabrics, and production.

A strong candidate should be able to take a design concept or reference sample and convert it into an accurate, well-fitted, graded, and production-ready pattern.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per hour
