What they need

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Payroll professional who loves getting the detail right, solving problems and making things work better.

Reporting to the Head of Payroll and Scheduling, you’ll take ownership of our end-to-end fortnightly payroll, ensuring more than 700 employees are paid accurately and on time. You’ll be trusted to manage the detail, but you’ll also have the opportunity to look beyond the next pay run and help us improve the way payroll works across SwanCare.

No two days will be exactly the same. Alongside processing the fortnightly payroll, you’ll manage off-cycle payments, allowances and employee changes, respond to payroll queries and provide practical advice to employees and managers.

You’ll also play an important role in ensuring our payroll practices meet the requirements of Fair Work legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and our organisational policies. From interpreting industrial instruments to preparing payroll reports and supporting audits, you’ll bring your expertise to a role where accuracy, compliance and good customer service really matter.

And because we’re on a journey of continuous improvement and new systems, we want someone who doesn’t just say “that’s the way we’ve always done it.” We want you to ask “is there a better way?” and help us find it.

Why SwanCare?

Imagine doing work that matters, with people who genuinely care.

SwanCare is the largest single-site retirement and aged care community in WA, supporting more than 1,000 residents and employing more than 700 people. We’re a diverse, busy and connected community where the work you do has a real impact.

You’ll be joining a team that values collaboration, respect and a good sense of humour because while we take our work seriously, we don’t believe work has to be boring!

Our people tell us that SwanCare is warm, welcoming and a place where you can feel part of something bigger. We’ll support you to grow, recognise your contribution and give you opportunities to develop your skills along the way.

And being a not-for-profit organisation means the work you do ultimately contributes to something bigger, supporting our residents and the people who care for them.

What is in it for you:

We want our people to enjoy coming to work and feel valued for what they contribute.

You’ll have access to attractive salary packaging options that can increase your take-home pay, along with flexible working arrangements to support your work-life balance. You’ll also have access to our reward and recognition program, exceptional on-site facilities and services, HBF health insurance discounts, on-site gym membership, free onsite parking and our Employee Assistance Program.

About you:

You’re someone who takes pride in getting payroll right.

You’re comfortable working with complexity, enjoy solving problems and have the confidence to make decisions when things don’t quite go to plan. You build strong relationships naturally and understand that great payroll is about more than numbers, it’s about providing employees and managers with accurate information, helpful advice and confidence that they’re being looked after.

You’ll bring demonstrated experience managing payroll across, with experience in the aged care would be desirable. You’ll have a strong understanding of Awards, Enterprise Agreements and other industrial instruments and be confident interpreting and applying them in a payroll environment.

Experience with Chris21 or Pay Metrics will be advantageous.

Most importantly, you’ll bring strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, a customer-focused mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What Happens After I Apply?

If you’re looking for a payroll role where you can use your technical expertise, have a genuine impact and be part of a workplace that feels like a community, we’d love to hear from you.

Please submit your resume and a covering letter telling us a little about you and why you’d love to join the SwanCare team.

We’ll be reviewing applications and commencing interviews straight away, so don’t wait!

Other offers great for you!
