Senior PCB Layout Design Engineer

Mission of the Role: As part of the ECAD Team, the Senior PCB Layout Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and release of complex, high-quality printed circuit board (PCB) layouts that meet product, manufacturing, reliability, and engineering requirements. The role ensures the timely delivery of accurate PCB design data, drives PCB design best practices, and collaborates closely with hardware, mechanical, manufacturing, and global engineering teams to support successful product development and launches.

Key Objectives of the Role: Joining our ECAD Team, you will support local and global engineering activities by:

• Lead PCB layout development for complex multilayer board designs from concept through manufacturing release.
• Convert electrical schematics and mechanical requirements into optimized PCB layouts.
• Define PCB stack-ups, routing strategies, component placement methodologies, and design constraints.
• Develop high-speed, mixed-signal, RF, power electronics, and high-voltage PCB designs.
• Apply Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), and EMC/EMI design practices.
• Ensure compliance with IPC standards, company design guidelines, and product requirements.
• Generate fabrication, assembly, and documentation packages for manufacturing release.
• Support engineering change requests (ECRs) and implement design updates using Mentor Graphics / Siemens Xpedition tools.
• Collaborate with PCB fabrication and assembly suppliers to address engineering and manufacturing challenges.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical recommendations to cross-functional engineering teams.
• Support prototype builds, product validation, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations.
• Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Testability (DFT) initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to PCB design standards, methodologies, and continuous improvement activities.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring on-time delivery and high-quality results.
• Perform DC Drop Analysis and support electrical performance optimization.
• Cost reduction ideation (Panel optimization, Number of layers reduction, PCB material definition).

• On-time delivery of PCB layouts and engineering releases.
• Compliance with PCB design standards, IPC requirements, and engineering guidelines.
• PCB layout quality and first-pass acceptance rate.
• Successful implementation of engineering changes within target timelines.
• Accuracy and completeness of PCB documentation and manufacturing packages.
• Effective collaboration across local and global engineering teams.
• Reduction of layout-related design issues during prototype and production phases.
• Continuous improvement contributions to PCB design processes, standards, and tools.

• Achieve full proficiency in Visteon PCB design tools, processes, and standards.
• Successfully deliver complex PCB layout projects on schedule and to quality expectations.
• Establish strong partnerships with local and global engineering teams.
• Independently execute complex PCB designs from concept through manufacturing release.
• Ensure full compliance with Visteon design guidelines and development processes.
• Support successful product launches through accurate and manufacturable PCB designs.
• Identify and implement process, quality, and layout optimization opportunities.
• Contribute to PCB design best practices, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing activities.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 12+ years of experience in PCB layout design and ECAD development.
• Proven experience leading complex PCB projects through the complete product development lifecycle.
• Expert knowledge of PCB design methodologies, processes, and best practices.
• Strong proficiency with Mentor Graphics / Siemens Xpedition PCB design tools.
• Solid understanding of electronic circuits, hardware design principles, and PCB manufacturing processes.
• Ability to interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, stack-up requirements, and technical specifications.
• Strong knowledge of Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), EMI/EMC, grounding, and high-speed design concepts.
• Experience with high-speed digital, mixed-signal, RF, power electronics, and high-voltage PCB designs.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Testability (DFT).
• Experience working with PCB fabrication and assembly suppliers.
• IPC Certification preferred.
• Automotive industry experience required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience working within global cross-functional engineering teams.
• Proactive mindset focused on quality, continuous improvement, and delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively use AI tools in day-to-day work.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Reports to: Associate Manager of the PCB Layout Design Engineer team.
