About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Senior Performance Tester/Performance Test Lead. This is a long-term contract role with an initial 12-month contract plus 2 x 12-month extension options, located in Canberra, ACT, with a hybrid working arrangement requiring approximately three days per week onsite.

As the selected candidate, you will:

• Lead the ongoing maintenance, enhancement and support of enterprise performance testing capabilities, including LoadRunner and JMeter-based frameworks.
• Design, develop, execute and maintain performance test scripts, suites and artefacts.
• Manage performance testing environments, test data and load generation infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and governance across performance testing initiatives and projects.
• Investigate and resolve complex performance testing issues, bottlenecks and non-functional risks.
• Drive framework improvements, capability uplift activities and best-practice performance engineering standards.
• Collaborate with testers, developers, architects and business stakeholders to ensure performance requirements are achieved.
• Develop and maintain testing documentation, standards, procedures and operational guides.
• Mentor team members and contribute to Communities of Practice across the organisation.
• Provide expert advice on performance engineering, testing governance and continuous improvement initiatives.

To be successful in this role you should have:

• A minimum of six years' experience as a Performance Test Lead, Senior Performance Tester or Performance Engineer within complex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated experience contributing to performance engineering strategies and non-functional testing practices.
• Strong expertise with LoadRunner, JMeter, Azure Load Testing and Azure DevOps.
• Experience designing, developing, executing and maintaining performance testing solutions and frameworks.
• Proven experience leading framework governance, tool maintenance, upgrades and capability improvements.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex performance bottlenecks and quality issues.
• Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Wireshark and Azure Monitor.
• Scripting and automation experience using technologies such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, Python or PowerShell.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience mentoring, coaching and building capability across testing and delivery teams.

It is desirable if you have:

• ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL)
• ISTQB Performance Testing Certification
• Micro Focus LoadRunner Certification
• Previous experience working within Federal Government or large enterprise environments.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with the ability to obtain and maintain Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) clearance.
